Tell me about it. The only reason why I have Bootcamp is because of EVE. Otherwise I would have kicked Microsoft OS to the kerb like a 3-pence-hooker after the sailors left town.

Downloaded, installed, but the darn thing still says incompatible release when I put the IP in place of Tranquility.
They are working on it, same here.
Also, try not to exit the client, it currently crashes on exit no matter what you do and you need hard reboot. You can not force-quit it either, if you Apple/Tab out. So just let it run, but, she sure as hell eating my CPU I am running activity monitor and my CPU load is at 45% . She only used 606 MB/of 2GB RAM, which is a blessing.
Edit:
Best way to Quit the client at the moment: Command/Tab out of the client, then, Use your Activity Monitor, and then "Force-Quit" the client from the activity monitor, the only way to quit the client w/o hard reboot.

Originally by: Raquel Smith Use Command+enter to go to windowed mode! Then you have access to dock and such and things to force quit it.
Thank You. did not even think about that. It still wont quit for me properly, even with dock access. Have to use the AM to force quit it.
But the Windowed Mode is good. Much easier access.
Thanks again.

Yea, User Name/Password is obviously an issue.
I only see 4 users online on the server, and I assume that it is not reflective of the actual number of testers.
So, we just have to wait on the password issue clarification.

Originally by: aquontium I'm getting username/username and username/password errors for both my accounts (and yes I'm registered for the beta ).
As the mac feedback forums don't seem to exist yet, I'd also mention that Eve hung when I quit from login screen, with 'Do not display this message again' checked. It took a quick fiddle with the power button for my Mac to love me again.
Originally by: CCP Lingorm We are aware of the Crash on Quit issue and it only applies to the Log in screen on the Mac (we are hoping to get a fix soon) but it was deemed acceptable to continue with that issue.
There is also an image scaling issue with portraits but it is graphical only.
And
Use Command+enter to go to windowed mode Use Activity Monitor to force quit EVE client

Un update, for those who will be logging in the first time:
Be patient, it takes a while to actually log into the server. You will see "Acquiring Bulk Data" - for a while, and then it will load, so do not Quit/Re-Enter it wont help, just go have soda, feed your fish, or something, then it will work.

Something has gone horribly wrong with my Mac client....
Few hrs back Bob Niac and I were happily shooting at jove battleships - and then.... this happened: http://dl.eve-files.com/media/0710/EVE-Gone_Bad.png
Basically I get a flashing screen, like my video went or something happened... I do not know. All I know I can login into Server, but I cant really do anything because I have them crazy lines running through my screen.
I removed EVE and reinstalled it again, did not help.
Any of you guys know if I can hard-rset settings somewhere in the files itself/package contents?

My Mac client is still cooked.... I do not know what has happened.
Lingorm, when all the Linux Login/Install issues get solved, I know it must be pretty hectic where you are at the moment, is it possible to finally get access to the beta test forums - because things get lost in all of us posting in the same 2 threads....
And I would really like to get back into it.

Originally by: Capn Hack sorry i didnt reply here sooner, but theres a chance you can fix this by deleting the eve online preferences folder in ~library/preferences. thats where the client stores all the stuff that would otherwise go in my documents in doze, as well as cider config stuff for the game. beyond that folder and the game app theres nothing that gets modified anywhere else on your computer. if that doesnt fix things you should try running some other game that uses 3d hardware to check that its not a problem with hardware (overheating, et al).
It Worked!!!!
Thank you. I will go an try to reproduce the issue. It happened when I was playing with display settings in the client.

An Update for Mac Users:
1) DO NOT CHANGE FULL SCREEN/WINDOW MODE OPTIONS from within the game UI 'Esc' Menu. 2) Use Command+Enter key to Change the mode. 3) Then Use the Resolution Changing options in the 'ESC' menu. 4) DO NOT touch the Window/Full Screen Option. Leave it as it is, that can cause a client to go crazy.
